Outpatient Counseling Services: 356 children, youth and their families received services in the Children & Youth Services Department this year. Over 2385 units of individual, play therapy, family and/or group services were provided.

CYS Parenting Groups Conducted:
Three (3) Separate Sessions (8 weeks each) of Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (S.T.E.P.) Classes were held at our agency. Thirteen (13) parents participated in these groups and noted that they learned: “How to be better at communicating with my children”, “The four goals of misbehavior and problem solving”, “That choices (not ultimatums) tend to be my largest asset”, “To talk to my child on her level, without talking down to her which opens new doors for personal growth for both myself and my child!”, and “I am capable of being an ‘effective’ parent—these tools have given me more confidence and a feeling of empowerment.”
Play Therapy: We have two certified* play therapists here at CSS (one also has her supervision certification); over 65 children received over 322 hours of play therapy in the Play Therapy Room.
Pregnancy Counseling and Adoption Services: Due to a steady decline in the number consumers over the past several years, our Agency has decided to plan fully end Pregnancy Counseling and Adoption Services. We will continue to refer consumers who identify themselves as in need of such services to one of our sister CSS Agencies, and have also identified a local attorney who has agreed assist with legal services for adoption.

The Family Department provided 5,721 hours of service to 723 individuals. Ninety percent (90%) of post discharge survey respondents indicate continued progress six (6) mos. after treatment has ended.
The Older Adult Program provided counseling services to an additional 167 consumers who were seen both in our office and their homes as needed.
